Thousands of bookworms and knowledge enthusiasts gathered at the 38th Manila International Book Fair held in SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City last September 13 – 17, 2017.
The annual MIBF continues to be the country’s biggest and longest-running book fair for almost four decades. Even larger than before, the event filled the first and second floors of the SMX with over a hundred stalls selling books of all genres for educators and casual readers alike. The event was participated by hundreds of publishing houses and companies around the world. Everything you need were there be it for academics or just for your mere leisure. Also, with this five-day event, book lovers were able to see their favorite authors and artists and have their books signed. The convention opened on Wednesday, September 18, with a speech by Boy Abunda about the books that changed his life.
“The MIBF has become a gathering of sorts for bookworms of all ages and walks of life to celebrate the joys of reading and the knowledge each book brings about. It has also been providing a venue for the exchange of ideas amongst players in the publishing and academic industry.” – MIBF
